ABOUT

MY BACKGROUND

Following my passion for sports, I have gained tremendous experience throughout my years in journalism both at the University of Missouri and in my career.

My experience has spanned across multiple mediums, most recently through the radio stations KATE 1450 AM Radio (Alpha Media) in Albert Lea, MN and Racoon Valley Radio (KDLS, KGRA, KKRF) in Perry, IA. At Racoon Valley I was responsible for voice tracking, producing and editing commercials and other promos to play on-air. In Albert Lea KATE1450 AM Radio I hosted a morning show from 6 AM-9 AM, waking up the morning listeners every Monday - Friday. In both roles I reported everything from weather, news, sports and market updates to birthdays, anniversaries, and funeral announcements.

Within my time at both stations I have experience reconciling music logs, as well as being the play-by-play voice of teams in the corresponding local areas (Perry Bluejays and various teams within the KATE 1450 listening area of Albert Lea). As the main announcer for both, I've called games for all athletic events, such as baseball, softball, football, and basketball, and also wrote two stories a day to put on the Raccoon Valley Radio sports website.

In my years at the University of Columbia, MO, I worked at the local radio station, KCOU, in which I called games for Missouri sports including basketball, football, softball and baseball. This role led to great opportunities outside of Missouri, such as reporting for the NFL draft in Nashville in 2019, where I followed Drew Lock's journey into the NFL and held interviews with various NFL analysts, including Kurt Warner.

In addition, I had the opportunity to work with the NBC-affiliate station, KOMU TV, where I interviewed local news sources, shot footage, edited and wrote stories for various live newscasts and KMOU online articles. Lastly, I hosted my own talk show with my co-host on "The Breakfast of Champions", every Thursday morning where we covered all current sports news.

I have the determination and motivation, along with work ethic to chase my dream of being a sports broadcaster and believe my passion for the industry will continue to help me get there.
